Game-PLAAI

Game and Participation: Analysis by Artificial Intelligence is a research project aimed at improving methods for evaluating in-person game sessions. To this end, the project seeks to develop a methodology and infrastructure based on the use of an artificial intelligence model.

This project aimed to develop and demonstrate the feasibility of a video data processing and analysis workflow, combining software and hardware and based on deep learning, in order to meet the needs of researchers using participatory approaches.

It focused in particular on the use of serious games as a support for these approaches, as mediation tools. Serious games thus served as a case study for the collection of observational video data, the training of an AI model to recognize interactions (player–game and player–player), and the calibration of the resulting analyses.
